Treatment for Gum Disease

At Grangewood Dental Practice, our patients gums are examined at your regular dental check up. Dr Amarjit Gill measures the depth of recession around each side of every tooth, he looks for signs of sensativity and bleeding and whether any teeth are mobile. This ensures we can give our patients the right oral hygiene advise. At Grangewood Dental Practice we have a fantastic hygienist who is trained to professionally clean teeth.

Scale and Polish

Is a thorough deep cleaning provided by a Dental Hygienist. Scaling is removing calcified plaque / tartar from the teeth which normal tooth brushing can no longer remove. Polishing is when the teeth are polished to remove stains with a special abbrasive paste. The hygienist uses a hand scale to remove particular stubborn calculus and then uses a ultrasonic which viberates the rest off. A scale and polish will improve the health of your gums and make your teeth feel much better. We have a qualified dental hygienist at Grangewood Dental Practice in Nottingham.
